- Today we have lost touch with our inner self and live more like a robot electronically programmed to engage with the outer world. We live in a “if and then” model of happiness. “If I could have that, then I will be happy”. This “if & then” never ends. Happiness is always just one “if & then” away and,- under this philosophy, our behaviors continue to chase happiness while live unhappily for years. This style of living and wrong eating takes a toll on our physical and emotional health and can result in many diseases such as obesity, depression, anxiety.
- In our fast paced society you also seek quick fixes. For physical, you look for a magical pill. The pill may remove the symptoms but not the cause. The moment you stop the pill, the symptoms return and you are back to square one. For spiritual, you seek a “guru” to give you emotional and spiritual pleasure. However, this pleasure lasts as long as you are in the presence of this guru. The moment you are on your own, this pleasurable feeling disappears and you are back to square one. You blame the guru and start your search for another one.
The solution is how to transition your priorities to focus on your health and return to the feeling of wellness now… and have it be sustained. I will inspire you to change your strategy and priorities. Rather than your outer self, you will approach wellness through your inner self. The strategy is to unfold your unique physical, emotional, and spiritual nature. You can then work at all levels to promote wellness based on your unique mind-body constitution. Time is not infinite. Opportunities will always compete for space. The question of maximising opportunity for financial benefit is practical. However, I find that my learning Mandarin has done 2 things, 1. taught me that Yoda from star wars speaks english as a direct translation from chinese grammar. 2. By making what is seen to be a major effort to understand other people, they have little choice but to warm to you. Once people have warmed up, opportunities follow at a pace that cannot easily be reconciled with the time it takes to learn any particular skill.

Sadly, this is very true… It’s all about quick fixes these days. I feel that in the Western culture you just have to function; you’re “broken” and can easily be replaced if you don’t. If we’re treated like machines it’s no wonder we feel like such — and fixing a machine is comparatively easy, it certainly doesn’t need holistic or individual methods or even giving mother nature her time, does it? I hope people will realize that this doesn’t work in the long run; actually I think many already do but don’t know what to do instead…
